Abbey considers it a privilege to work as a therapist, believing she has a calling to walk beside her clients as they gain new levels of insight, healing, freedom, and life. She completed a M.A. in Professional Counseling at Richmont Graduate University, and has undergone training that qualifies her to work with both youth and adults. She is especially interested in working with issues of abuse/trauma, sexual and gender identity, struggles with feelings of hopelessness, anxiety/fear, spiritual issues, and adjustments to difficult life circumstances. Prior to her graduate training, Abbey earned a B.S. in Music Education from Penn State University, and she also finds that some of her clients enjoy integrating aspects of the creative arts into counseling. Of Abbey, others have said that “Her warm and welcoming spirit is a comfort to her clients…” and that she has a “relentless curiosity about her conversation partners, non-judging attentiveness to their needs…Whether by nature or training, she clearly has the skills to be good at therapy.”
